What size 5 means
The standard size 5 reference is a 27.5-inch circumference. USA Basketball recommends this size for boys and girls ages 7–8. Other ages or leagues may use different rules, so check the requirements for the player’s actual competition.
A ball’s circumference and its mass are separate specifications. A foam size 5 may be lighter and rebound differently from an inflated size 5. Do not assume the size label guarantees the same feel.
The documented option in our catalog
QBounce’s detailed specifications give size 5 as 27.5 inches. Its mass was not verified. Compare the exact variant and request confirmation from the seller if weight matters.
Our other two researched models are described as full-size or men’s-size options. We do not relabel them as youth balls simply because they are made from foam.
A simple fit check
The player should be able to hold and transfer the ball with control. Try a gentle two-hand wrap and a few slow hand changes. Difficulty gripping or repeatedly losing control is a reason to reassess the fit and drill difficulty.
Use the size finder for a qualified starting point and read our kids buying advice before ordering.
